Some Qualifiers

Is it worth mentioning that *both* of us have to like it? Examples include: Bacchanalia.. I hate that place. Joel loves it. Sex and the city movie - I probably don't have to explain...

But is it worth getting a babysitter?

So I had a conversation with someone I don't know very well, but she lives in New York and has 4-year old twin boys and I'm sure feels the pain of all parents of young kids. She was *HIGHLY* recommending that I see "Slumdog Millionaire". I thought hey ok I'll add to my Netflix queue.. and she said no way, you have to see it in the theater. So I did what any parent does and did the mental calculations:

Movie tickets: 20
Drinks after: 20-30
BABYSITTER: ($12- 15/hr if I'm lucky): 45-75

So I had to ask the obvious question: is it worth getting a babysitter?
The answer was yes. So I'm lining up a babysitter and this movie better be good!

Which led me to the inevitable question.. what else is worth getting a babysitter for?
What could be better than getting a recommendation for something, knowing that if it sucks you are out not just for the cost of whatever it is that you did, but the $50-100 surcharge of having some nice person watch your kids for you.

So... what else is worth getting a babysitter for?

I'm curious about what you guys would get a babysitter for... help me build a list!

Off the top of my head:
1- a flaming lips concert (or substitute gogol bordello)
2- dinner at Babette's
3- apparently, Slumdog Millionnaire

HELP! We need to get out more :)
